It is high time for Netanyahu to deal with reality and drop his malicious campaign of distortion and delusion
PLO Executive Committee member, Dr. Hanan Ashrawi strongly denounced Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's comments regarding his scathing attack on President Mahmoud Abbas and his Doha report on the status of Jerusalem: "Rather than complying with international law and conventions and signed agreements, Netanyahu and his extremist government have launched a malicious campaign of distortion and other inflammatory statements.

If the Israeli government wants to dispute the Palestinian report on the ethnic cleansing of Jerusalem, then it should stop its confiscation of Palestinian land, the expropriation of resources, the revocation of IDs, the construction of illegal settlements and the demolition of Palestinian homes."

Dr. Ashrawi stressed, "Despite Netanyahu's extreme ideological declarations, Jerusalem is a Palestinian city under Israeli occupation besieged by military checkpoints, encroaching and expanding settlements, and the horrific apartheid wall. Israel's prevention of Palestinians, whether Christian or Muslim, from reaching their city, whether to worship, to seek healthcare or to conduct business is deplorable.

What is "contemptible" is precisely this behavior that constitutes an extreme provocation by the occupying power and a tremendous distortion of the cultural, historical, demographic identity of the city of Jerusalem."

Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu had fiery words for Palestinian Authority Chairman who on Sunday said at the International Conference for Defense of Jerusalem in Qatar that "The Israeli occupation authorities are using the ugliest and most dangerous means to implement plans to erase and remove the Arab-Islamic and the Christian character of east Jerusalem".

Netanyahu lashed out at Abbas, warning "The time has come for the Palestinian leadership to stop denying the past and distorting reality. Abu Mazen knows full well that there is no foundation to his contemptible remarks, including his baseless and irresponsible claims regarding the al-Aqsa Mosque."
