JENIN, (PIC)-- Hundreds participated in a protest in the village of Burqin to the west of the northern West Bank village of Jenin after the Friday prayers in support of Hana' al-Shalabi who has been on hunger strike for 16 days.
The protest which was called for by Palestinian factions started after the Friday prayers. The protesters marched the streets of the village calling for the release of Shalabi. They then gathered outside the protest tent pitched outside the home of Shalabi.
Rajeh Qablawi, speaking on behalf of Palestinian factions said that The example that Hana’ al-shalabi set through her hunger strike reflect a strong will to confront the occupation and its aggressive measures against Palestinian captives.
For his part, Hajj Adnan Musa, father of administrative captive Khader Adnan, called on organizations and factions to stand by Shalabi in her fight for freedom as they stood by his son during his hunger strike which lasted more than two months.
Shalabi’s brother called on all human rights organizations to intervene to save the life of his sister, who had no choice but to go on hunger strike to protest her administrative detention.
