NAZARETH, (PIC)-- Jamal Zahalka, an Arab member of the Israeli Knesset, has charged the Israeli government with planning to steal the Syrian Golan Height’s oil and gas resources.
Zahalka, who was commenting on the news report that Israeli energy minister Uzi Landau ordered the start of oil exploration in the occupied Syrian territory, said that the decision is downright robbery.
He said that the Golan is a Syrian territory and Israel was exploiting its natural resources contrary to the international law.
Israel annexed the Golan Heights more than 30 years ago and allowed settlers to exploit its land for settlement, agricultural, and industrial purposes.
