Al-Ma’sara Village Holds Its Weekly Nonviolent Protest

The popular Committee Against the Wall in Bethlehem, and the Popular Committee Against the Wall in Al-Ma’sara village, near Bethlehem, held their weekly nonviolent protest against the illegal Israeli Annexation Wall and Israel’s illegal settlements.

 The protesters marched in the village’s street chanting slogans against the illegal Wall, settlements and the occupation, and headed towards Palestinian lands stolen by Israel for the benefit of its illegal settlements and the Wall.

Israeli soldiers fired gas bombs and rubber-coated metal bullets at the local and international nonviolent protesters; coordinator of the Popular Committee Against the Wall and its media spokesperson in Bethlehem, in addition to an international activist were injured.

Saluting the protesters and solidarity activists, Committee Coordinator, Mazin Al-Azza, said that the Palestinians and human rights defenders reject the ongoing attacks carried out by Israeli settlers against the residents and their lands, and the ongoing Israeli violations.

Representing the Popular Committee Against the Wall, Hasan Brejiyya, strongly denounced the ongoing Israeli violations against the Palestinian people, their lands and holy sites, and the ongoing attacks carried out by Israeli settlers, including the settlers provocative march last week marking the so-called “Reunification of Jerusalem” in 1967, marking Israel’s illegal occupation of East Jerusalem and announcing occupied Jerusalem as the united and eternal capital of Israel.

Addressing the international activists and the international community in English, peace activist Jom’a Zawahra stated that the international community must denounce Israel’s violation against the Palestinian people and its transfer agenda targeting the very existence of the indigenous Palestinian people similar to what happened during the “Nakba” of 1948 when Israel was established in the historic land of Palestine, and during the “Naksa” of 1967 when Israel occupied the rest of Palestine.

Media spokesperson of the Popular Committee Against the Wall, Mohammad Breijiyya, stressed on the importance of the youth in the creative popular resistance against Israel’s illegal settlements, Israel’s illegal policies and its illegal settlements and violations against the Palestinian people and their lands.
